Trade School: Bug Hotel

  • Hands-On Halifax 6070 Almon Street Halifax, NS, B3K Canada

Bug hotels provide shelter and nesting areas for a variety of insect life. On June 4th, join us at Hands-On Halifax Community Woodshop from noon to 2pm to build frames for bug hotels. We'll learn basic carpentry skills along the way, and this part of the day will be limited to eight people. From 2pm to 4pm the session is open to everyone and we'll be filling the bug hotels with materials and finding homes to install them.

Please bring materials to fill the bug hotels, such as pinecones, bamboo shoots, twigs, moss and cardboard.

To barter for this experience, please bring some useful materials for the wood shop, such as leftover paint and stain, scrap wood and hardware, sandpaper, or painter tape to leave behind in appreciation.

The venue is located at the very end of the parking lot.
